BETHANY, Okla. — In a hard-fought rivalry match, Southwestern Christian University came up just short against Mid-America Christian, falling 2–1 on Saturday.
After MACU took a first-half lead, Gabin Desplats brought SCU level in the 52nd minute off an assist from Vinicuius Cruz. The Eagles pushed for a winner but couldn't hold off a late MACU surge, as the hosts scored in the 87th minute to secure the victory.
Goalkeeper Enzo Camps tallied four saves for SCU, which dropped to 7-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Despite the loss, the Eagles showed grit and composure in a matchup that continues to grow as one of the SAC's most heated local rivalries.
