Southwestern Christian Falls 3-0 to Nelson

WAXAHACHIE, Texas — Southwestern Christian women's soccer dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Nelson (Texas) on Tuesday afternoon in conference play.

The Eagles held strong early but fell behind in the 37th minute when Daisy Ruiz put Nelson on the board. Just before halftime, Daisy Altamirano doubled the lead with a strike in the 42nd minute. Nelson added one more in the 77th minute as Azucena Garcia scored to seal the match.

Southwestern Christian managed three shots on goal, led by Shosona Graham and Monse Villacres, but could not break through Nelson's defense. Goalkeeper Lorelai Puglisi recorded three saves in the effort.

The loss moves Southwestern Christian to 8-1-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play, while Nelson improved to 7-1-2 and 2-0-0.

The Eagles will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they continue conference action.
