The Eagles had another great day on the track at Pittsburg State University in the NAIA/JUCO Challenge.
Along with two qualifying 4x400 relay performances by the men's and women's teams, three school records were set by three different SCU standouts.
The first record breaking performance was produced by
Kerry Robinson. The junior from Norman High School had two record breaking performances last week in the long jump and the 400 meter dash. This week he continued his assault on the record book by breaking his own 400 meter record, running a 49.70 and bettering last week's record finish of 50.84.
The second record of the day went to
Carissa Burns a senior from Bethany High School. Carissa raced to at time of 26.40, bettering Daisy Borunda's time of 26.45 in 2017.
Malachi Amway earned the final record breaking performance of the day in the men's 200. His time of 22.63 bettered the former record of 22.74 set by former Eagle, Miles Atherton in 2020.
Another highlight from the meet was a top 8 finish in the triple jump by
CaLee Williams, a junior from Carl Albert High School. CaLee's jump of 44' 7.5" was his career personal best and moves him into the top 7 jumpers in the NCCAA.Â
The next action for the Eagles will be this weekend at the JD Martin Invitational on the campus of The University of Oklahoma.
