Bethany, Okla. - Southwestern Christian was defeated by Mid-America Christian University today by a final score of 3-0. MACU, coming off a big win against Oklahoma City University, carried that momentum over into the match-up against the Eagles, who struggled to keep up with the Evangels' offense.
Although both teams would often trade the lead within sets and both got off to a slow start offensively, the Eagles offense struggled more than the Evangels to get offense started. SCU only posted double-digit kills in the third and final set, while Mid-America's offense only improved as the game progressed.
Faith DeSouza led the Eagles with 6 kills and 7 assists, while consistent offensive forces
Paige McGee and
Brianna DeVries followed her with 5 kills each. McGee had a block and 6 digs, while DeVries aced 1 serve.
