Bethany, Okla. Southwestern Christian University fell in their home opener tonight 3 sets to 1. Despite winning the first set, the Eagles were unable to stave off an Oklahoma Panhandle State team that managed to always find themselves right with SCU.
Alondra Esparza highlighted the offensive effort from SCU with 15 kills on 33 attempts, including a service ace.
Paige McGee and
Brianna DeVries both had double-digit kills on the night, with McGee's 11 and DeVries' 10.
Faith DeSouza had 9 kills and 28 assists, while tying for second on the team in digs with 13. Despite SCU leading OPSU in most metrics, mental errors took their toll after the Aggies won the third set, when SCU posted as many errors as kills while OPSU ran away with the fourth set and the victory.Â
