Chickasha, Okla. - Southwestern Christian University was unable to pull off the upset against #2 University of Science and Arts on the road tonight, falling 3-1 after 90 minutes. The Eagles fell behind early, and were unable to overcome the deficit despite a goal in the first half.
The Eagles were outclassed by the Drovers offense, which kept the pressure high early and often. The Drovers took 7 shots in the first and 9 in the second, compared to the Eagles' 4 in each half. Because of this,
Marta Papandrea's seven saves were unable to help the Eagles in the end, as she was forced to face 10 shots on goal from USAO. SCU's one goal came from
Jaina Munoz, who was assisted by
Hadley Mclanahan. The goal marked Munoz's 4th of the season, and capped off a very strong end of the year for sophomore forward.Â
