Bethany, Okla. - Southwestern Christian University took on the John Brown Golden Eagles tonight, eventually falling 79-70 to the #1team in the SAC. SCU played well in the face of a JBU team that could not seem to miss from beyond the arc, but John Brown's strong first half proved to be the difference-maker.
SCU and JBU both put up 36 points in the second half of play, but JBU's 43 points in the first half outperformed SCU's 34 point first.
Deondre Dunn came alive tonight, totaling 24 points and tied for the highest total of either team. Dunn finished at 9-21 from the field, 3-11 from three, and 3-4 from the line.
George McCurdy grabbed 12 points, taking advantage of his trips to the line with a 6-8 total from when shooting free throws. McCurdy was also 2-4 from three and had six rebounds.
Michal Wooldridge grabbed 8 points and 5 assists, which combined with his 4 rebounds, made another strong performance in the paint from #7.
