Bethany, Okla. - Southwestern Christian University fell to 3-15 on the season after a loss today against the John Brown University Golden Eagles. SCU was plagued by communication errors all match long, and although they were able to find their footing in Set 3, it was not enough to come back against their Sooner Athletic Conference opponent.
Southwestern Christian University scored only 16 points over the first two sets, and had 15 errors. Unlike their previous match against the College of the Ozarks, SCU was unable to bounce back after their slow start, and John Brown ran away with the first two of the match. The Eagles were much more competitive in Set 3, where they scored 17 points, but as a team SCU was outperformed at the net and on the serve, which stifled any momentum SCU started to gain throughout the game.
Paige McGee and Naveah Ramsey would lead SCU in kills with 5 each, and
Faith DeSouza picked up three. DeSouza also led the Eagles with 8 assists and 15 digs. Ramsey also picked up a dig and led SCU in hit percentage with a .364 mark.
