Bethany,OK.-- Southwestern Christian(34-14, 18-14 SAC) split the final regular season series with Southwestern Assemblies of God, winning Games one and four, 10-3 and 8-6, but dropping games two and three, 6-7 and 0-8.
Game 1: vs SAGU (W 10-3)
SAGU would open the scoring in the first with one run to take the early lead (1-0
SAGU). SCU would respond with a big fourth inning scoring four runs,
Addison Hanna would double to right center scoring
Jessie Moralez (1-1
Tie) and then a couple at bats later
Madison Jones would hit a 3 RBI Homerun over left center to give the Eagles the lead (4-1
SCU). SAGU would punch back in the fourth with a two RBI homerun of their own to cut into the Eagles lead (4-3
SCU). The Eagles would counter in the fifth with three runs (7-3
SCU) and insurance runs in the sixth and the seventh (10-3
SCU).
Jones and
Megan Vess would hit Home runs in game one,
Jones hitting hers in the third, while
Vess knocks hers in the seventh to seal the deal.
Lauren Schallert would get the dub for today throwing 6 IP, 6 H, 3 Er, 3 BB, 6 Ks, HBP, 28 BF, 96 NP, she moves to 16-4 on the season.
Elisha Stilwell would come in relief with 1 IP, 1 H, 0 Er, 1 Ks, 4 BF, 18 NP.
Game 2: vs SAGU (L 6-7)
SAGU would open the scoring in the first with two runs to take an early lead (2-1
SAGU). SCU would respond with a
Megan Vess solo home run over left to cut into the early deficit (2-1
SAGU). SAGU would add an insurance in the second to move the margin back to two runs (3-1
SAGU). In the third
Hannah Keele would score on a fielding error by SAGU off the batted ball by
Alys Parr, again to trim the score to one (3-2
SAGU). The Lions would have a big third inning with three runs to push the lead to a four run margin (6-2
SAGU). SCU would respond in the fourth off a
Addi Hanna Single (6-3
SAGU) and in the fifth
Megan Vess would hit a Home run for the second time today and drive in two runs (6-5
SAGU), then a little later
Maliyah Patton would hit a sac fly to right to drive in a run to bring the game even (6-6
Tie). SAGU would hit a walk-off home run in the seventh to snatch victory away from SCU to win game two (6-7
SAGU).
Elisha Stilwell would get the start, she threw 2 IP, 3 H, 2 Er, BB, WP, 10 BF, 35 NP.
Harli Clem would get the Loss in the game throwing 4.1 IP, 6 H, 4 Er, 2 BB, 1 Ks, 20 BF, 76 NP, She moves to 7-6 on the season.
Game 3: vs SAGU (L 0-8, 5 Innings)
The wheels really fell off in Game three for SCU, giving up seven runs in the first and one in the third. The game would end after five innings due to run rule. Four errors cost the Eagles in game three.
Harli Clem would pick up the Loss on 0 IP, 3 H, 2 Er, 5 BF, she moves to 7-7 on the season.
Addi Hanna would finish out the game with 4 IP, 3 H, 1 Er, 2 BB, 2 Ks, 18 BF.
Game 4: vs SAGU (W 8-6)
Southwestern Christian would get the scoring going in the first with
Madison Jones hitting a double to left center to score
Jessie Moralez (1-0
SCU), then
Megan Vess would single to right to score
Jones. SAGU would respond in their half of the first with three runs to take the lead on a couple of SCU errors (3-2
SAGU). SCU would punch back in the third with a big inning scoring five runs,
Lexie Smith would double to left field scoring two (4-3
SCU) then
Jalen Durrence would also double to left and bring in a run (5-3
SCU), then a couple at bats later
Moralez would single to left and bring in two more runs to give SCU a four run margin (7-3
SCU). SAGU would respond back in their half of the third inning with three runs to trim the Eagles lead to one run (7-6
SCU). The Eagles would add an insurance run in the fifth with a
Moralez sac fly to score
Durrence to push the Eagles lead to two runs.
Jessica Czikra would get the start for SCU, she pitched 2.1 IP, 6 H, 4 Er, 14 BF, 37 NP,
Lauren Schallert would come for relief, she pitched 4.2 IP, 2 H, 0 Er, 2 Ks, 16 BF, 39 NP,
Schallert would pick up the win and move to 17-4 on the season the most by an SCU pitcher in program history in a regular season.
