Eagles soar to sweep over Kansas Christian

Bethany,OK.-- Southwestern Christian(24-8, 10-8 SAC) sweeps the doubleheader over Kansas Christian, winning Game one 10-2 in six innings and taking Game two 5-2. With these wins the SCU Eagles have tied the Softball school record for most wins in a season previously broken last year, but know they are 24-8 with 16 games remaining in the regular season before conference tournament play.

Game 1:
Kansas Christian would open the scoring on a passed ball that would let a runner come into score to give the falcons an early 1-0 lead. Southwestern Christian would wait until the fourth to respond to the Falcons scoring three runs, Alys Parr would get it going when she would hit a double that scored Keele(1-1), then in the next at-bat Madison Jones would also double down the left field line that would score Parr(2-1), then two at-bats later Holly Elam would double to center that would drive in Jones to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead in fourth. Southwestern Christian would not relent in the fifth, adding five runs to their tally, Hannah Keele would double that would score Durrence and Brown for two RBIs and push the Eagles lead to 5-1, next Parr would reach base safely due to a Kansas Christian error fielding error that would score Keele(6-1), next at-bat Jessie Moralez would single to right to bring in Parr to move the Eagles lead to 7-1. Kansas Christian would try to start a rally in the sixth that would only be able to score one run but still chipped at the SCU lead to make the score 7-2. The Eagles would respond in the sixth with three runs, Mallori Brown would double to left to score Lexie Smith to make ti 8-2, a couple at-bats later Durrence would hit a double that would score Brown(9-2), Later Keele would nail the coffin shut on the falcons in game one when she hit a single to left that scored Durrence(10-2), to force the run rule on the Kansas Christian in six innings. Addison Hanna would throw the full game for Southwestern Christian picking up her third win on the campaign.

Game 2: 
Kansas Christian like the first game would strike first taking an early 2-0 lead. Southwestern Christian would however respond in kind with a big 2 run Homerun by Kirsten McKee with Elisha Stilwell on the bases to tie the game in the bottom of the first at 2-2. Then in the third the Eagles would take the lead and never look back when Lexi Cahwee would hit a Solo Bomb over left to make it a 3-2 ball game. In the fourth Alexis Underwood with single up the middle that would score Aspen Warren to extend the SCU lead to 4-2. Two innings in the sixth Underwood would be at it again but this time hits a Solo Bomb over center to push the Eagles lead to 5-2 over the Falcons. Lauren Schallert would throw the complete game with eight strikeouts and allowing no earned runs, she picks up her 12th win on the season and ties the school record for most wins in a season for a pitcher. She looks to nab her 13th against Cross-town rival MACU this week.
