Magical Season Comes to an End

Marion, IN.--Southwestern Christian(16-14) was eliminated in the first round of the NAIA tournament by the #1 Indiana Wesleyan University, SCU just couldn't slow down the Offensive powerhouse that was IWU. IWU shot 38-63 from the field averaging 60.3%, 12-28 from the three averaging 43% and shot 11-16 from the free throw line averaging 69%. 
 
The Lady Eagles shot 19-52 from the floor averaging 36%, also shot 3-16 from three (19%) and from the free throw line shot 12-15 (80%). Mj Case led the Lady Eagles in points tonight with 13. The Lady Eagles got Out-Rebounded the Wildcats 26-28, SCU had 4 offensive rebounds and scored 5 second chance points, Lauren Wade & Tresha Yager led SCU in Rebounds and finished with 7 a piece. The bench contributed 11 points to the effort, Delaney Reimer led the 2nd team squad shooting 4-8 from the floor and 1-2 from the Free throw line, she finished the game with 6 pts & 2 Reb. The Eagles had 9 assist in the game.

MJ Case led the Lady Eagles tonight,she finished the night with 4-10 shooting and 4-4 from the Charity strike, Her Final stat line was, 13 points, 3 rebounds, & 3 assist. Christina Jenkins also contributed to the Offensive effort with 5-12 shooting from the field, Her Final stat line was 11 points & 5 rebounds. 

The magical season comes to an end with a first ever opening round appearance in the NAIA tournament. The Lady Eagles won their first ever Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament. This season was a season of ups and downs but the Eagles found a way to get hot at the end of the season and finish out strong. We will miss the 4 graduating seniors next year but they have created a path that future Eagles now know is possible.
