Oklahoma City,OK.-- Southwestern Christian(19-7, 7-7 SAC) fought tooth and nail last night against NAIA softball powerhouse #6 Oklahoma City, losing narrowly 7-5 in Game one and 3-1 in Game two.
Game 1:
Oklahoma City would open the scoring in the second with one run and the stars would add four runs in third to give themselves a 5-0 lead. Southwestern Christian would go away so quietly, the Eagles would respond in the fourth on a big two-run Homerun by
Megan Vess to cut into the lead 5-2. Later in the fifth the Eagles would score a run on a OCU error to make it a 5-3 ball game. The Stars would respond in the fifth with two runs to push their lead to 7-3. The Eagles would try to mount a late rally in the seventh, SCU got the scoring moving in the seventh by a
Madison Jones single through the left side of the infield that would score two runs from second and third to make it 7-5 with runners on first and second, The Stars were forced to put in their ace Cornelson to quell the Eagles offense and try to stop the rally and unfortunately the All-American did just that, stopping the Eagles seventh inning rally sealing Game one for OCU, with the score of 7-5.
