Sterling, Kan.-- Southwestern Christian(2-2-2) goes up to Sterling College and grabs their second win on the campaign, winning 1-0 and pick up their second clean-sheet of the season.
The day was highlighted by an outstanding offensive performance by the Eagles. Chrissy Mitchell scores her third Goal of the season in the 4th minute, which would be the Game-Winner, Harlie Findley would pick up her third assist on the season. Celeste Luciowould only get one save on the day, mostly because the Eagles defense only allowed three shots and one shot on goal, so not much trouble for Lucio to handle. The Eagles had to break an NAIA record in this game shooting 47 times with 23 shots on Goal, forcing a lot of pressure on the Sterling back line. The Eagles also had the upper hand in corner kicks with +11 advantage, (11-0 SCU Corners).
The Eagles will return the action on the Road at McPherson,KS as they will face off against Central Christian on Sept.28th at 8:00 pm for more Sooner Athletic Conference Soccer.
