Eagles split Doubleheader with Royals

Bethany,Okla.-- Southwestern Christian(10-3) splits the Doubleheader with the Ecclesia Royals(5-9), 8-0 in game one and 3-6 in game two. SCU led the day in the Hitting Category with 19-10 advantage. 

Game 1: 
The Eagles opened the scoring in the second inning with seven runs, it started with two runs off a Kyler Ayres single, but the runs would come in off an Ecclesia Error, which make it 2-0 SCU. Parker Henderson would make the gap even wider with a Three Run BOMB over the left field fence to make it 5-0 in the bottom of the 2nd. Erasmo Mavarez would come into score on throw off of a stolen base by Freilin Cabrera to make it 6-0 SCU. Then Nick Smith would single to score Cabrera from the third and make it 7-0 in the bottom of the 2nd. SCU wouldn't score until the 5th inning and Jabes Turner would triple in the bottom of 5th to score a run to make it 8-0. Jose Perez would get the complete game shut out and his second on the year, he is now 2-0, his final stat line 7.0 IP, 9 K's, 1 H, 0 runs.Parker Henderson led the Eagles in offense today with 3-4 at the plate with that big 3-run blast in the second.

Game 2:
The Royals would start the scoring in the 1st by a single to give Ecclesia the early 0-1 lead, Later in the first after a SCU pitching change Ecclesia would stack on two more runs with a 2-RBI single to make it 0-3 Royals. Then in the second inning Ecclesia would give themselves more cushion with a RBI double to make it 0-4 Ecclesia. Southwestern Christian would answer back in their bottom half of the second off a Balk by the Ecclesia pitcher for to make it 1-4. Ecclesia would would get that run back in the 3rd inning off an SCU error that scored one to push the lead back to four, it is 1-5 Ecclesia lead. The Royals would scratch across one more run in the fourth inning off a stolen base attempt that resulted in an out, but the Royals runner would score on throw back from second to make it 1-6 Ecclesia.SCU would respond in their half of the 4th with a Kyler Ayres 2-RBI Double that would a big gash in the Ecclesia lead and make the game 3-6 in the 4th inning, but the SCU rally would end there as the Eagle offense struggled to put anything together in the later innings. Southwestern Christian would have five players get an appearance on the bump today, Gavin Sochor would get the start today for SCU, but his day didn't last long, his final stat line was 3 Earned Runs, 2 H against four batters he would take his first loss of the season and move to 0-1 on the year, Jacob Doshier would come in relief and his final stat line was 1.0 IP, 2 K's, 0 Earned runs, & 1 H. Jesus Valoy would come in next for SCU, his final stat line 3.0 IP, 1K, 2 Earned runs on 5 H. Then Jordan Bahnuk would be come in next for relief, his stat line finished out at 2.0 IP,1K,0 Earned runs on 1 H. The Final pitcher of the day was Connor O'Malley he finished the night with 1.0 IP,1K. 0 ER, 0 H, & 0 BB.Nick Smith led game two in the offense category with a 3-4 at the plate and 2 runs, Kyler Ayres was right behind him 2-3 at the plate and 2 RBI's

Southwestern Christian returns to action on Thursday and Saturday for this season first conference series against the powerhouse Drovers of Science & Arts of Okla, this is a very good series you do not want to miss as both teams were picked to finish in the top four of the Sooner Athletic Conference this year. Thursday is a single 9-Inning game at USAO at 6:00 pm and the Saturday games are a Doubleheader at 12:00 pm and 2:00 PM at Eagle Field at Dolese Park for our Home games.
