Lady Eagles Dominate in Second round to advance to National Championship

NCCAA National Tournament — Southwestern Christian(20-14) Completely dominated from start to finish over the #2 seed Asbury, with all out performances by Tresha Yager and Thamires Andrade. Asbury shot 18-61 from the field averaging 30%, 6-29 from the three point line averaging 21% and shot 13-17 from the free throw line averaging 77%. The Eagles forced 10 turnovers on 6 steals, Thamires Andrade led the Eagles with Three steals in that category. SCU scored 10 points off of Turnovers.


The Eagles Offense shot the ball out-standing today.  The Lady Eagles shot 26-56 from the floor averaging 46%, shot 8-14 from three (57%) and from the free throw line shot 16-24 (67%). With 25 points from Tresha Yager she led the Eagles in Points.The Eagles had the +10 advantage in the rebound Category with 44–34 favor. The Eagles had only 6 offensive rebounds,Thamires Andrade led SCU with 13 Rebounds. The bench contributed 8 points to the effort, Gillian Snowder led the 2nd team squad with 5 pts & 2 Reb.The Eagles had 16 assist in the game,Thamires Andrade led the Lady Eagles in Assist and finished the night with 8 Abbey Phibbs was close behind with 5. SCU also finished with 30 pts in the paint.

Tresha Yager just shot the lights out tonight for SCU,she finished the night with 9-13 shooting, 5-8 from three, and 2-3 from the Charity Strike, Her Final stat line was, 25 pts, 4 Reb,1 Ast,& 1 Stl. Thamires Andrade also contributed to the Offensive effort with 7-15 shooting, 2-3 from beyond the Arc, and 6-10 from the free throw line, Her Final stat line was 22 pts,13 Reb, 8 Ast,& 3 Stl.Lauren Wade finished the game with 5-9 shooting from the floor and 1-2 from the Free throw line, she finished with 11pts,6 Reb,& 1 Stl. 

The Lady Eagles will return to action in the NCCAA National Championship on Saturday, March 19th,at 5:00 PM against the #5 seed Oakland City.
