Bethany,Okla.--Southwestern Christian(9-3) sweeps Bacone on day one of the four game series, winning 10-5 in game one and surviving a scare in game two in which SCU won 11-10 in six innings.SCU had the advantage in the hitting category at 21-15 on day one.
Game 1:
 Southwestern Christian drew first blood in the bottom of the second inning with aÂ
Nick Smith 430 foot BOMB over Right-Center to give SCU the early lead at 1-0. SCU added five more runs in the fourth, starting with anÂ
O'Shea Whiteside two RBI double that scores two, SCU increased their lead to 3-0.Later in the fourth Freilin Cabrera would add more cushion to the SCU lead with a RBI Single, that gave SCU the 4-0 advantage. Jhors Gomez would Double later in the fourth and score two more runs for SCU and make the gap bigger with the lead now at 6-0. Bacone would get a run back in the top of the sixth inning with SAC fly center that scores one run, SCU still leads 6-1. Southwestern Christian would respond in their half of the sixth inning, with four runs, it started with Jhors Gomez getting his third RBI of game one with a single that gives SCU the six run lead at 7-1. Later in the sixth SCU would stack on two more runs by a Wild pitch that scores an SCU runner from third to make it 8-1 and then two SCU runners would score on a Bacone Error to make the lead 10-1 over Bacone. Bacone however would not go quietly in the seventh as they stacked on four runs, to make game one a little interesting but it was to little, to late for the Warriors, the scoring started with a two RBI double by the Warriors first baseman, to make the score 10-3, Bacone scored another run on a Fielders choice a Bacone runner scored from third, to cut into the SCU lead at 10-4, The Warriors would get one more run with a single that scored a runner from third to make the score, 10-5 SCU. Nick Smith gets the Win in game one, his final stat line was 4.0 IP, 8 K's, 0 Earned runs,& 1 Hit given up in his appearance, he picks up his first one on the early campaign. Connor O'Malley would finish the game for the Eagles, his final stat line was 3.0 IP & 5 K's, he did give up 5 Earned runs in his first appearance and looks to improve.
Game 2:
Bacone would strike first in game two on Fielders choice that would score a run to give Bacone the Early lead at 0-1. Southwestern Christian would score two runs in the bottom of the second inning off a Bacone error, to retake the lead at 2-1.In the third Inning SCU would tack on two more runs due to more Bacone errors, the scored would move more in SCU favor at 4-1. Moving into the Bottom of the fourth,Â
Kyler Ayres Would single into right field and score an SCU runner from third and add cushion to their lead at 5-1. Bacone would answer back in the top half of the fifth inning with six runs of their own, it started off with a one-run triple, to make it a 5-2 SCU lead, then next Bacone would score on a throwing error by the Eagles to cut the lead to two runs, SCU still led 5-3, Bacone would score again by another Eagle throwing Error and cut another piece of the lead and make a one run game at 5-4 SCU, Then Bacone would tack on the final two runs of the inning with a three-run Double that would give them the lead at 5-7. Southwestern Christian would answer back in their half of the fifth inning with five runs of their own to retake the lead and give them a sizable lead, it started with an SCU runner scoring on a Wild pitch to make it a 6-7 Bacone lead, next Erasmo Mavarez would single to score the SCU runner on second and to tie the game at 7-7, then Mavarez would score from third base on a wild pitch to give back the lead to SCU making it 8-7. SCU would score as Tyler Reeves advances home on throw by the Bacone catcher, while Parker Henderson stole second and make it a 9-7 SCU lead.SCU would get one more run on a Freilin Cabrera Double, to make the SCU lead at 10-7. Bacone was not finished yet as they would tie the game up with a three run sixth inning, it started off with two Bacone runners would score off an SCU Error, to cut into the lead at 10-9 SCU, Bacone would tie the game up with Single that would score a runner and make it 10-10 in the sixth inning. SCU would score the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning, it started with a Freilin Cabrera Double down the left field line and then in the next At-Bat he would advance to third on Wild pitch, an SCU hitter would strike out and then bring up Erasmo Mavarez would come up to the plate and Hit a Single scoring Cabrera from third to give SCU the lead at 11-10. The game would be called after the third out by the Umpires due to no sunlight, so Southwestern Christian will pick up their seventh win in this Early Campaign. Jesus Valoy would get the start for SCU, his final stat line was 4.0 IP, 5 K's, 1 Earned Run, unfortunately he would get the No Decision for this game. Gavin Sochor would come in relief and he finished with 0.2 IP, 1 K,& 2 Earned Runs. Jordan Bahnuk would get the win for SCU in this game and move to 1-0 on the season for him, his final stat line was 1.1 IP, 4 K's, 1 BB,& 1 Earned Run.
