Eagles Win Against Cross Town Rival MACU

Bethany, Okla.—Southwestern Christian University gets back in the win column on Tuesday afternoon against cross town rival Mid-America Christian with a 85-73 victory.

Southwestern Christian (5-5, 3-4 SAC) came out strong from the beginning of the game winning the first half 40 to 32. The Eagles kept the fire going into the second half of the game. The Evangels kept trying to get back into the game but the Eagles had a great shooting night to keep MACU out of reach.

The Evangels shot 28-70 from the field averaging 40%, 2-18 from the three point line averaging 11% and shot 15-30 from the free throw line averaging 50% 

Shawn Hopkins led the way for Southwestern Christian once again coming off the bench. He notched 24 points, hauled in 12 rebounds, and had 4 assist. Luiz Machado Jr. had 15 points in this game with 8 Rebounds, and 6 assist.  

The Eagles will return to action on Thursday, December 15th, at 7:30 PM against University of Texas Rio Grande Valley for an exhibition game. This match will be on ESPN+.
