Box Score 2 Kissimmee,FL.-- Southwestern Christian went to the NCCAA National tournament and come to dominate beating #7 seed Judson 4-2 on Monday night and landing a Draw against #3 seed Columbia International 2-2, SCU would win Pool C based on Goal differential out scoring Columbia by just one goal and now have the #3 seed in the semifinal matchups and our two wins away from securing their fourth NCCAA national title after being eliminated in pool play last season.
Game 1: vs Judson (4-2 Win)
Judson would open the scoring in the 23rd minute to take the lead but Southwestern Christian would score two Goals to answer in the first half, Camren Ashby would score in the 33rd minute of a Free Kick for the equalizer.
Shamari Davis would score in the 36th minute after stealing the ball from Judson Right winger and going one on one with the keeper is able to get the go-ahead Goal and put SCU up 2-1. In the 47th minute
Shamari Davis would score a Brace for the day off an assist by Teejay Chiroro to give a 3-1 lead. In the 67th minute
Jason Hogan would win the ball back in the Final Third of the pitch and dribbled till he was one on one with the Judson Keeper and score and give SCU a 4-1 lead. Judson would respond in the 89th minute to make 4-2, which did not matter much in the result, but giving up a second couldv'e possibly hurt SCU in a seedings were based on Goal Differential after the final day. Southwestern Christian would come out of the First game with Three points in the Pool C table and put SCU in prime position of their to possibly advance to semis of the National tournament.
Game 2: vs Columbia International(2-2 Draw)
Southwestern Christian would open the scoring in the 25th minute by
Shamari Davis scoring his third goal of the tournament off an assist by Camren Ashby. In the 40th minute SCU
Jason Hogan would score off a beautiful cross by Mathew Malama to give SCU a two nil lead heading into the break. Columbia International would respond with two goals in the 77th minute and the 84th as the Equalizer. The Game would end a in 2-2 Draw, and SCU would take first overall in Pool C due to Goal differential since both squads ended up with 4 points each and the head to head match up ended in a Draw, SCU scored six Goals while giving up four in Pool play compared to Columbia Internationals five Goals and also giving up four goals so SCU had the +1 advantage in Goal Differential.
The Eagles advanced to the Semifinal round of the NCCAA National tournament as the Three seed and will face off against the two seed Roberts Wesleyan on December 2nd at 7:30 PM ET.
