Eagles fall to USAO in SAC Semifinals

Bethany,OK.-- Southwestern Christian fall in heartbreaking fashion to USAO, 3-2 in a game that was back in forth to the very end, Eagles fell behind early and almost climbed their way back to a level contest but a few bad touches and some mental mistakes sends the Eagles home disappointed for missing a chance at a second ever berth to the NAIA National tournament.

USAO would start the scoring in the 19th minute with a Goal to give the Evangels an early 1-nil lead, USAO would add to their advantage in 25th minute to make a 2-nil game, but the Eagles would finally respond and put some energy back in the SCU side with a Goal by Teejay Chiororo to make it a 2-1 game, but USAO would go back up two goals on the Eagles with a chip in Goal in the 42nd minute and would take the 3-1 lead heading into the break. The Eagles needed a Goal and it finally come in the 73rd minute by Alejandro Sainz off a bad touch by a USAO defender who was trying to play it down to himself and lost control of the ball and Sainz saw the opportunity and took it away and put it by the USAO Keeper to make it 3-2. But in the final 15 minutes, SCU wasted a couple of pristine chances to level the game and couldn't capitalize, and the Drovers would beat SCU 3-2 SAC semifinals.

SCU would have 12 shots on the day with nine on Goal, while the Drovers had 11 shots with seven on Goal. SCU would have the advantage in Corners (5-4 Corners). Salvatore Della Vella would have four saves on the day. 

Southwestern Christian returns to action on Nov.15th at home on Cagle Family Field in Bethany,OK for the NCCAA Central Region Regional Final against Central Christian for a chance to make it to the NCCAA National Tournament.
