Hillsboro, KS.-- Southwestern Christian(1-0) competed in the Tabor Classic in Hillsboro, Kansas this weekend. SCU played Tabor college Friday night at 6PM. They struggled shooting the ball in the contest going 3 for 15 from the 3 point line. Lady Eagles lose this game 68 to 42 giving them their first lose of the season.
Southwestern Christian ended the game shooting 16-49(33%) from the floor, while shooting 3-15(20%) from beyond the Arc, SCU shot 7-8(88%) from the free throw line. The Bench of SCU contributed only 9 pts to the effort compared the Tabor 33 bench points.MJ Case being the top scorer with 14 points. Southwestern Christian were out rebounded by the Bluejays 27 to 37, Delaney Reimer lead SCU with 3 assists and SCU ended the night with only 7 assist overall. The Big Stat for SCU was 19 turnovers and allowing 25 points off those turnovers.
MJ Case led the scoring for SCU with 14 Points, 2 Rebounds, & 2 Assist, she shot 6-8 from the floor and 2-2 from the Charity strike.Christina Jenkins finished the night with 9 points, 3 rebounds, & 1 assist.
Next in the tournament the Eagles will play Bellevue University Saturday morning at 11AM.
Hillsboro KS.— Southwestern Christian(1-1) tried to bounce back from the tough lose last night against Tabor College. The Eagles played hard in the contest after coming out in the first quarter only scoring 11 points. They bounce back and scored 24 to go into halftime only down by 2 (37-35). But just could not hold off the Bruins going down by 12 going into the 4th quarter, the Eagles losing 80 to 64.
Southwestern Christian ended the game shooting 25-58(43%) from the floor, while shooting 6-28(21%) from beyond the arc, shoot 8-11(73%) from the free throw line. The Bench of SCU contributed 18 points. Delaney Reimer being the top scorer coming off the bench. Southwestern Christian was out-rebounded by the Bruins by a +10 advantage, (43-33). Jaden Mason lead SCU with three assists and SCU ended the night with 10 assist overall.
Lauren Wade led the scoring for SCU with 18 points, 5 rebounds,& 2 steals, she shot 9-10 from the floor, Tresha Yager finished the night with 13 points, 1 rebound, & 1 assist. Jaden Mason finished the night with 11 points, 3 assist, 5 rebounds.
Southwestern Christian returns to action at Home in Pickens-Springer Gymnasium in Bethany,OK on November 17th at 7:00 PM against Central Christian for Sooner Athletic Conference opener.
