SILOAM SPRINGS,AR-- Southwestern Christian falls to John Brown in four sets (25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 25-18), unfortunately the losing skid now moves to six for SCU.
Southwestern Christian started the match off struggling in the attacking department in the first two sets .189% attacking percentage, (10-3-37) and in the second set the Golden Eagles limited SCU to a mere .000 (6-6-31) in the second. SCU was able to rally themselves in the third set with solid attacking play at .394% and only one error, (14-1-33), Both teams hit over .300 in the fourth, but John Brown slammed the door shut on a late rally by SCU with a match ending run of their own.
Southwestern Christian's (6-14, 1-11) response was Siloam Springs product Makenna Thomas, who smacked 18 terminations on 38 swings (.474) without making an error. Paige McGee added 10 kills, but the visitors manufactured 23 fewer kills than their counterparts. Faith DeSouza had 34 assists, and Treasure Mozon patrolled the back row to the tune of a game-high 25 digs.
Southwestern Christian returns to action at Home in Bethany,OK in Pickens-Springer Gymnasium on October 11th at 6:00pm against Science & Arts of Oklahoma(USAO) for more Sooner Athletic Conference action.
