Oklahoma City,OK.-- Southwestern Christian(6-3-4, 4-1-3 SAC) fall in heartbreaking fashion to Rival MACU in a game that was back in forth, you could live on the edge of seat, the atmosphere at Dill soccer field was electric,but sadly SCU fell to MACU, 3-2 and the SAC Regular season title just slipped out of the Eagles grasp, but the Eagles have a chance to bounce back on saturday.
MACU would start the scoring in the 16th minute with a Goal to give the Evangels an early 1-nil lead, but Southwestern Christian would strike right back two minutes later in the 18th with a goal by
Kodai Tenaka to draw the game even at 1-1, his shot 24-Yards Middle To Top Right Side pass the MACU GK. MACU would retake the advantage in the 22nd minute
to put MACU up two-one and would take that lead into the break, but SCU would not go quietly in the 53rf minute, Shamari Davis with some fancy footwork and dribbling got by two MACU defenders and shot it 6-Yards Right Side To Left and got it past the MACU GK to get the Equalizer to make it a 2-2 game. But MACU would later retake the lead off a Header from 4-Yards in the 81st minute, MACU
would score and heartbreakingly ended 3-2.
SCU would have 8 shots on the day with six on Goal, while the Evangels had 21 shots with seven on Goal. MACU would have the advantage in Corners (8-0 Corners).
Salvatore Della Vella would have four saves on the day.
Southwestern Christian returns to action at Home in Bethany,OK on Cagle Family Field on October 29th at 3:00pm against Wayland Baptist for the Final Home stand of the season and a chance to solidfy themselves in the #2 seed for the SAC post-season tournament.
