Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

SCU fall in NCCAA National Tournament

Kissimmee, FL-- The Southwestern Christian men's soccer season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon as they fell 2-1 in a double overtime effort in the NCCAA Tournament to Campbellsville University.

The Eagles (14-8-2) earned their way into the match by defeating Carolina University  in a crazy ending game the day before. The Eagles needed a win to keep their season alive and advance to the NCCAA Final Four.

The first half of the match was a very equal game between the two teams, Campbellsville jumped out to a 1-0 halftime lead. CU led 1-0 into the second half until Cameron Ashby found the back of the net for the 3 time in the tournament. The score was tied at the end of the regulation so they were headed into Overtime. Neither of the teams could score in the first Overtime. During the Second Overtime CU found the back of the net during the 104 Minute.

SCU started the game slow with only 5 shots in the first half but had 11 in the second half.

The loss will bring an end to the season for the Eagles. The Eagles finished the year at 14-8-2. They will look to rebound next season and make their way back to the national tournament.
