  • Title
    Grad Assistant

James Cottage joined SCU for his junior season in 2009 and immediately became a leader for the Eagles. He led SCU to an ACCA National Title in 2009 as well as two straight trips to the NCCAA National Tournament in 2009 and 2010. Cottage was listed as an ACCA First-Team All American and an NCCAA Second-Team All-American his junior year and was a national leader in assists.

Cottage, a native of Thrapston, England, led the team to a program best 20-3 record and was named as a MCAC All Conference First Team selection as a central midfielder in his senior year. Among his top collegiate plays are two late, game-deciding goals that led to victories over Oklahoma Christian and the University of the Ozarks.

After a year as a grad assistant in 2011, Cottage has been tagged as a permanent member of head coach Neil Cagle's staff beginning in 2012.

"With quality assistants like James, our guys have someone to look to who has walked in their shoes," stated Cagle. "He can help them grow as players and as men."
