Southwestern Christian University has named Scott O'Hara as its head men's track and field coach.
O'Hara replaces long-time SCU coach Paul Parent, who was elevated to the position of Director of Track and Field.
"I am very excited for this opportunity that God has for me," O'Hara said. "I'm excited to continue leading young men and developing their character and integrity through athletics and academics by working as hard as I can for Southwestern Christian University and its students."
O'Hara comes to SCU by way of Purcell High School were he served as head football coach. O'Hara has 12 years of coaching experience in football and track and field. He has coached at Hobart, Tuttle, Bridgeport (Texas), Luther, Burns Flat-Dill City, Newcastle and Purcell high schools. He has also coached at the college level at Southern Nazarene.
O'Hara spent four years at Newcastle High School as a track and field coach where he guided multiple Class-4A state qualifiers.
O'Hara and his wife Tara have been married for eight years and have three daughters, Kaylee (6), Peyton (4) and Lydia (4).
